Yes, the first step will always take place at the Portuguese consulate in the country where you legally live. After you arrive in Portugal, we’ll guide you through the in-person residence permit appointment with AIMA (the immigration office here). You won’t have to figure out the process alone — we’ll prep you, chase documents, and keep you updated the whole way.
For most clients, it takes about 5 to 6 months from submitting your application at the consulate to getting your visa approved. Once you arrive in Portugal, it usually takes another 4 to 5 months to receive your residence permit card. There can be waiting periods between steps, but we’ll keep you updated every week so you always know exactly where things stand.
Yes. You’ll need proof of accommodation, even if it’s a short-term rental, to include in your application. We don’t book housing for clients, but we’ll share trusted platforms, tips, and local contacts that have worked for other applicants. Either way, we’ll guide you through the process, give you honest advice, and make sure you understand the market before you commit to anything.
